Why Vihiga Bullets failed to honour Nzoia Sugar game

Vihiga Bullets interim coach Milton Kidiga has disclosed that the team could not honour its league match against Nzoia Sugar FC due to the dire financial struggles that they are facing. The Bullets have been facing numerous challenges, particularly with their away games. A week after playing Gor Mahia, they were stuck in Nairobi before well-wishers came to their aid. The decision to issue a walkover in a home tie on Wednesday marked the lowest point for the club, which is now one walkover away from relegation.##NAJAVA_MECA_7153429##On Wednesday, they did not show up at Bukhungu for the match, a venue that’s under 30 kilometers from their Vihiga backyard. According to Kidiga, they could not cater for matchday logistics, hence the decision to stay away.”It is a sad situation, but that’s where we find ourselves in. We could not raise the money required to cater for the logistics like the ambulance, security, hiring of the stadium, and other small costs,” he stated. He says the situation is a sad one and is agitated further by the fact that they will lose three more points as punishment for issuing a walkover.”The patron really tried, but by midday on match day, it was clear that we would raise the money. It was a devastating blow for the players, the technical staff, and everyone within the team. We now lose three more points that we had worked so hard to get, and it is a sad situation,” he added.Vihiga Bullets have not honoured their HOME league match against Nzoia Sugar at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. This is the second walkover they are issuing.
