Manchester win the penalty shootout and will play rivals City in the FA Cup final

One cup in the bag, another one is just 90 minutes away. Manchester United won a dramatic shoot-out at Wembley stadium and defeated Brighton and Howe Albion to reach the FA Cup finals, where they will meet their arch-rivals Manchester United. After 120 minutes without goals, but with plenty of excitement and chances, it was the penalty roulette which decided the winner in a game which chould go either way. And there are two players who were the reason why the game ended without goals: David De Gea and Solly March. The first one again played an excellent game with three wonderful saves, and partially redeemed himself for terrible display in the Europa League defeat against Seville, while the other one missed two good chances (both saved by De Gea) and in the end, missed the crucial penalty.Manchester City 🆚 Manchester United at Wembley. It’s the first FA Cup final ever between Man Utd and Man City. pic.twitter.com/C35BCr4FAJ— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) April 23, 2023 This was an unfair game for Brighton, as they were better team with better chances, but since they didn’t break De Gea during the 120 minutes, they had to win the penalty shootout. And while both teams didn’t have so many situations like this, United had far more experienced players for the penalty drama, with footballers like Casemiro or Rashford among the first penalty takers. Brighton was good to, as their teriffic defender duo Dunk – Webster were also on target, but as the first five penalties were finished, other players stepped in and March was the unlikely looser. De Gea had a paper with Brighton’s penaly takers statistics hidden in his towel and checked it before every shot, but still failed to save a single penalty. But, when March came, United’s Weghorst gave him the ball and said something to him, and then De Gea came to the penalty spot to distract him too, and it worked, as his shot was wide above the crossbar.
