FKFPL: Ken Kenyatta unhappy with referee’s performance in Talanta’s loss to Gor Mahia

FC Talanta coach Ken Kenyatta has sensationally claimed that the referee handed Gor Mahia a win over them.K’Ogalo rallied to beat Talanta 1-2 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) round of 27 fixture staged at Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. Talanta player was adjudged to have handled in the box from a thrown in ball with referee Hillary Ochieng’ pointing to the spot without hesitation. Omalla stepped up to send goalkeeper Kevin Otieno the wrong for the equalizer early in the second half. In the second goal, a quick free kick caught Talanta napping with Omalla racing against himself after receiving the ball from Austine Odhiambo to score in an empty net.”The referee gave a foul where there was none and before he blew his whistle the ball was kicked into the net,” Kenyatta lamented.Yet, McKinstry holds that Talanta went to sleep and that the goal was clean.”The rule is very clear, if the ref is booking the player then the game has to stop, if not the attacking team has the liberty to initiate a quick free kick,” the Irishman said.
