Mwalala picks positives from Bullets win ahead of Mozzart Bet Cup quarters

Ulinzi Stars head coach Benard Mwalala picked great positives from their 3-1 win over Vihiga Bullets at the Ulinzi Sports Complex ahead of their Mozzart Bet Cup quarterfinal match against Sofapaka on Saturday.According to Mwalala, the team’s performance has not been convincing since the 5-0 drubbing in Mombasa by Bandari earlier in April. However, during the match against Bullets, the tactician noted improvements in terms of chances created although he admits that they did not have the best of games.##NAJAVA_MECA_7209172##Further, the former Kakamega Homeboyz tactician was happy for his players Boniface Muchiri and Hillary Simiyu who found their scoring boots once again after a dry spell in front of goal.”We did not have the best game but a win is a win even if you win ugly because three points matter a lot during the last stretch of the season. After the loss to Bandari, we did not get back on track but I think this was our way back because we created more chances in the game than we have done in any other game recently. We have not been scoring convincingly in recent matches but the goals gave our players the likes of Simiyu and Muchiri who have stayed for a while without scoring the much-needed confidence. My positive takeaway from that game is that we scored three goals, something that we have not done in a long time. Scoring in the game was a great boost for us heading into the Mozzart Bet Cup because we have to score to win the game,” Mwalala said.Mozzart Bet Cup: Matano out to get another win over KCBSince the heavy loss in Mombasa, the Soldiers had stuttered in the four matches that they played afterward, including losing to Wazito who are in the relegation zone.To get into the last eight of the Mozzart Bet Cup, the Soldiers edged out Kenya Police FC at the Police Sacco Stadium while Sofapaka eliminated National Super League side Darajani Gogo at the same venue.
