Not yet uhuru! CS Namwamba waiting for FIFA direction before taking action against FKF

Despite their reinstatement to office, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) officials have everything to worry about if CS Ababu Namwamba’s words are anything to go by.FKF returned to office last November after one year of suspension. The federation had been disbanded by former CS Amina Mohammed over alleged graft, although the court has since cleared federation president Nick Mwendwa of any wrongdoing.##NAJAVA_MECA_7209144##When he restored the federation, Namwamba, who had just succeeded Amina, promised that it would not be business as usual, vowing that integrity and accountability would be key under his administration. The restoration of the federation resulted in Kenya’s FIFA suspension being lifted. In an unforeseen turn of events, the ministry chief has now revealed that the federation is under probe and that they handed a dossier to FIFA’s delegation that was in the country in January. He added that they are waiting for FIFA to give them further directions on the issue so that the nation doesn’t get suspended from the international scene again.”We shared with him (Gelson Fernandes) a dossier on the serious integrity questions that have risen around football, and we sort the consent of Fifa for the government to start dealing with those issues in a manner that Fifa will not consider interference that would lead to another suspension,” the CS told the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare, as reported by the Nation.”We are still waiting for official communication from FIFA on how to deal with the issues detailed in the dossier. I want to confirm to this committee that a lot of issues that have been raised by the petitioner are issues already included in the dossier.”.He added that a number of federation projects are also being audited by the Auditor General.”We have asked the Auditor General to audit a number of programmes, projects, and federations. FKF is among the federations that the Auditor General is looking at, and upon the conclusion of that exercise, we intend to take action as advised by the Auditor General,” he added. How Francis Baraza’s tactical prowess helped Police trounce over Bandari
