Kapaito provides crucial assist as Arba Menche continue fight against relegation in Ethiopia

Harambee Stars striker Eric Kapaito provided what could prove to be yet another important goal contribution for his Arba Menche side as he assisted the goal that earned his team a 1-1 draw on Monday evening against Fasil Kenema in the Ethiopian Premier League. Having been entrusted with a starting berth in the Round 23 fixture, the two time Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer during his stint at Kariobangi Sharks in the Kenyan league helped his side grab the important point in the 41st minute when he teed up Derese Temesgen for the opening goal of the game.

Just when it looked like that first half strike would be enough for Menche to get back to winning ways, Kenema’s Bezabeh Meleyo had other ideas as he restored parity with just twelve minutes remaining on the clock to force a share of the spoils in the encounter. In the clash, Kapaito national teammate Bernard Ochieng was also entrusted with a place in the starting eleven and went on to play full minutes in the defensive line.Record-breaking Olunga nets quadruple in season finale, securing first Qatar league crown with DuhailKapaito, who back in March and April scored three goals in a row to help his side steer clear of the drop zone, managed three quarters of the game on his part before paving way for Ahmed Hussien.Following the result, Menche have now moved to a temporary 14th place on the log on 24 points, thirteen above the relegation places with seven games remaining. The team have however failed to win in their last five remaining games, drawing thrice and losing two matches.
