LaLiga has announced plans to set up a training camp in Kenya in August this year, a move that could give Kenyan football a much-needed boost.According to Laliga representatives, the camp will offer upcoming footballers and coaches from the country access to world-class coaching and play a key role in shaping their careers.##NAJAVA_MECA_7244857##This move comes at a time when Kenyan top-tier clubs and football in general are grappling with a myriad of difficulties, including financial, infrastructural, technical, and a lack of world-class football academies. The sport is also in desperate search of a broadcast partner after the exit of Startimes in 2021 when the federation was disbanded. Stadium attendance at the moment is also laughably pitiable for this popular sport in Kenya. In the past, La Liga has set up successful camps across Africa, in countries like South Africa, where they staged camps in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and KwaZulu-Natal.LaLiga takes pleasure in having UEFA PRO-licensed coaches present at the camps to ensure the best and most competitive international standards. It was great organizing the @LaLigaEN Commercial Networking Event with Mr. Alvaro Abreu and graced by LaLiga Director for Africa Mr. Marcos Pelegrin.Thank you all who made time to attend and we are looking forward to successful partnerships and collaborations in the future. pic.twitter.com/Wl7EoqWSue— Hilda Cheptoo (@HildaCheptoo) May 9, 2023 Players between the ages of 10 and 17 will have the chance to be evaluated, and both boys and girls will have the chance to take advantage of a wonderful 10-day training opportunity with an official La Liga club in Spain.Speaking during the commercial networking event in Nairobi on Tuesday, La Liga Africa Managing Director Marcos Pelegrin revealed that the camp is still in the planning phase, with the preliminary date set for August.”We still need to polish the details; it is something we will be announcing officially next month, and it is very exciting for us,” Pelegrin said. The camp will focus on insight into tactical, physical, and psychological aspects needed to perform at the highest level in world football, with its objective being to give disadvantaged youths from all over Kenya a chance to be coached by top LaLiga coaches.Joash Onyango leaving Simba?
