Ulinzi Stars winger Boniface Muchiri has urged sports stakeholders and organizations to keep the faith and never tire in coming to the aid of the less privileged communities in Kenya. The former Tusker player was speaking at the Arizen Community Based Organization in Mukuru Kwa Ruben where he made Mozzart Bet’s first humanitarian ticket donation accompanied by his teammates John Kago and Kevin Thairu.Muchiri was on 29th April voted the Mozzart Bet Cup man of the match in Ulinzi Stars’ fixture against Sofapaka after his exploits in securing his team’s progression to the tournament semifinals. The winger was on the scoresheet in the 38th minute as Ulinzi battled to win on penalties (5-4) after a 1-1 draw in regular time to secure a semis matchup with Tusker FC.“I want to first of all say a huge thank you to Mozzart Bet for this initiative made true via their Ksh. 100000 humanitarian ticket,” Muchiri said on Thursday afternoon. “It is through the organization that I was able to give back to my community here and at least give them something to smile about.”Muchiri, in partnership with Mozzart Bet, was able to provide foodstuff and essential items for the kids at Arizen C.B.O – a children’s home that was instituted after the COVID-19 pandemic with an aim of providing support to homeless children and instilling education to them.“They started with just four kids and the few years has seen the institution grow tremendously,” Muchiri said. “It’s just not about the children getting a place to stay but a place for them to further their talent. Most of them here play football and I saw it wise to come here just to see them become some of the best footballers in our country.”Cyprian Aluda from Mozzart Bet’s marketing team said: “We are happy to be here as our organization believes in giving back to the society through our various CSR Programs and the humanitarian ticket.“We endeavor to do the same and we will seek to extend our arm to the less privileged communities.”Muchiri was one of the four winners of the inaugural Mozzart Bet Cup man of the match awards alongside; Tusker’s Michael Oduor, Kakamega Homeboyz’ Hillary Otieno and AFC Leopards’ Jaffari Owiti.
