For two seasons in a row, Everton is facing two major obstacles: relegation and debts. Last season, they nearly escaped both, but this season nobody can predict anything. With only two games to go until the end of the season, Toffies are just one point above relegation zone and face Wolverhampton and Bournemouth. And while coach Sean Dyche is facing some tough games and is hired to get the Everton out to the safe zone, things are even messier off the field. If they stay in the Premier League, they are about to be sued for 300 million pounds.🚨A group of Premier League clubs have failed in a bid to have Everton’s charge for breaching FFP rules fast-tracked so it is dealt with before the end of the season. The mentioned clubs also wanted the intependent regular body, set-up by the league, to fast-forward their decision on Everton’s potential break of rules, so that the Toffies are punished before the end of the season, either fianancialy, or by points deduction. When their request was denied by the Premier League, they lodged legal papers and became a party in this dispute. Now, their case will be presented to the independent body before they reach the verdict. But what is actually the problem?Half a BILLION in the red: Everton is in hot water over FFP regulationsWell, Everton recorded losses of 315 million pounds over the past three years. Premier League rules allow clubs to lose a maximum of 105 million over three years. Any breach of the regulations — known as Profitability and Sustainability rules — is punishable by a fine or a possibility of deducted points and these accusations happened in March this year. In their most recent accounts, Everton said Covid losses amounted to around 100 million pounds over the last three years, although that only brings their total loss down to 223 million — well over the limit. The aforementioned clubs, who are all fighting relegation, with the exception of Burnley, who was relegated last season, have calculated that their annual loss, if they are relegated, will be around 100 million pounds. So, apart from Southampton, who are already going to the Championship, Leeds, Leicester or Nottingham Forest will look for the other 200 million. One club out of those three will remain in the Premier League and will drop the claims, while other two will ask Everton to compensate them with 100 million each. ##NAJAVA_MECA_7261852##
