Kakamega Homeboyz turn attention to Ingwe in Mozzart Bet Cup semifinal

Kakamega Homeboyz captain Robinson Kamura believes the team will use the ‘same approach’ they’ve used in all their games this season as they prep up for their pivotal Mozzart Bet Cup semi final against AFC Leopards this weekend.“We are ready,” Kamura told FKF Media on Wednesday afternoon. “We know and understand that this will be a different game, it’s a different competition, but we will play and approach the game like we always do.”Offering up an opportunity for the winner to participate in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, Kamura believes the cup semifinal will be one that ‘we show no friendliness’ and will make sure to follow up their big results in the tournament – where they have gone on to beat fellow FKF Premier League sides Kariobangi Sharks and Gor Mahia.“I would like to call upon our fans to make their presence felt on Saturday and spur us to a win in our first of two finals,” he said. That was the same message echoed by team head coach Patrick Odhiambo as he talked about the team’s preparations ahead of the clash set to be staged at the Nyayo National Stadium.##NAJAVA_MECA_7261504##“Our preparations have been good, we have been focusing on righting the wrongs we committed in our last two games,” Odhiambo said.Homeboyz, following the comprehensive 6-1 win in the cup quarterfinals, lost two consecutive games to Tusker and Nzoia Sugar, games Odhiambo is hoping his team builds up from.“We have been working on our psychology and just playing with a free mind,” the former Biashara United head coach said.Shikangwa on target as Simba Queens finish second in Tanzanian Women’s leagueOn the opponents of the day, Odhiambo described AFC Leopards as ‘a team in form’, hailing the job done by head coach Patrick Aussems and his assistants – Lawrence Webo and Tom Juma – but rued injuries that have rocked his team.“We have been missing a few players like Moses Mudavadi and Kevin Amwayi, whose status for the game is unclear,” Odhiambo said. “That, plus conceding goals is something we hope to have solved before Saturday.”The last time the two faced each other in the league saw the game at Bukhungu Stadium suspended over crowd trouble, with AFC Leopards docked 3 points, fined KSh. 500,000 and asked to play their next 4 games behind closed doors.
