Government secures sponsor, broadcast partner for FKF-PL

Sports CS Ababu Namwamba has confirmed that next season’s FKF Premier League will be well-funded and that they have also secured a broadcast partner for the league. The league has been without a title sponsor and broadcast partner since 2021, when the gaming firm that had pumped money into the league opted out. Chinese broadcaster Startimes also took off when the federation was disbanded by former sports CS Amina Mohammed.##NAJAVA_MECA_7312402##Since he took over in October, Namwamba has been clear that he wants to improve the level of football in the country with sponsorship and a broadcast partner. He has now disclosed that the government has secured a broadcast partner for next season. The new partner will be unveiled in due course.”In my first full season in office, the season starting in August is going to be a proper one. We have worked out a program on how the season is going to kick off, but most importantly, I am very happy to inform the people of Kenya that we have already sorted out the live broadcast issue,” he said during an interview with Homeboyz Radio. He added that, apart from the broadcast partner, the government has also secured a sponsor for next season’s campaign. He added that all clubs playing in the FKF Premier League next season will be guaranteed money from the new partners.”Kenya is going to have an official live broadcaster starting the new season, and running alongside the live broadcast is a mega sponsorship package because we must have an arrangement where every club participating in the Kenyan Premier League knows that at a minimum, there is a guaranteed income,” he added.”We have put together a sponsorship package that will guarantee every club a minimum amount, whether you finish first or last in the league. That package is going to spread to other levels of the league.”This will be a welcomed boost for the league and clubs. A good number of clubs have struggled to not only pay their players and other staff but also cater for logistics.”Whatever happens behind the scenes is beyond my control” – Olunga responds to latest transfer rumors
