Messi opens up about his struggle in Paris

After two years in Paris, Lionel Messi decided to leave the country and signs for Inter Miami. Barcelona tried (on words) to resign him, but actually never gotten to the written proposal, so the Argentinian decided to activate his USA plan a year or two earlier than expected. He gave an interview for beIN Spots and explained his decision to come to PSG, opened up on his adaptation struggles and commented on his relationship with the fans.🇦🇷 Lionel Messi’s stats this season for PSG:👕 39 games⚽️ 20 goals🎯 20 assists 🤝 40 goal contributions 35 years Old! 🐐👏🏽 pic.twitter.com/iE9kkZY7Jz— Sholy Nation Sports (@Sholynationsp) May 21, 2023 When his departure from Barcelona in 2021 became world news, there were actually not many places to where Messi could go to. PSG always wanted him, they were willing to give him everything he wanted and they had a squad ready to fight for the Champions League.“I came to Paris because I liked the club, because I had friends and a lot of people I knew in the dressing room, teammates from the national team or some I had been with before. It seemed to me that, beyond what the club was, I was going to have a much easier adaptation than in other teams I could have gone to, so that’s a little bit why I decided to go to the club” said Messi.Kenya youngster excited at the prospect of facing Lionel MessiBut, his expectations were met with reality and it turned out to be a much more difficult task than expected.“The truth is that it was a very difficult adaptation, much more than I expected. Apart from the fact that I had people I knew in the dressing room and I had relations with them, it was complicated to adapt to a new change. I arrived late, I didn’t have a pre-season. I had to adapt to a new city, which was difficult for my family and for me” he confessed.Messi could debut in July, Inter brining some of his teammatesIn his first season, he eventually won Ligue 1, but in PSG, that goes without saying. He did the same in his last season, but the ultimate goal, to win the Champions League, failed miserably, as the Parisians were eliminated both times in the round 16 of the competition, and on both occasions, Messi was bad in those games as much as the other players. What was worse, the season was interrupted due to the Qatar World Cup in which he won the championship with his country. When he came back from Paris, his lack of determination and desire was evident and it ended with fans booing him after losing to Clermont in his final PSG game earlier this month.“People started to treat me differently. Part of the PSG crowd, the rest and the majority still treated me as they did at the beginning, but there was a break with the PSG fans. It wasn’t my intention, far from it, to generate that break. It also happened with Neymar or Kylian Mbappe before. I’ll stay with all the people who did respect me as I always respected everyone since I arrived” he said.##NAJAVA_MECA_7339161##
