A guy travels 2000 km to Philly to see Messi who is….in Argentina?

When it comes to passion and fanatism, football fans around the world are among the leaders. Their dedication and attention to detail are well documented, but there are others who are not so focused on football. And there are those who are fans but know very little about the sport they are supporting. And a story about one such fan is just incredible, especially since we live in the 21st century, in the era of social media and total expansion of football. This Philadelphia Union fan traveled 1,200 miles to watch Messi’s first game with Inter Miami.Messi is still on vacation 🙃 pic.twitter.com/CtQBxk2ZBI— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) June 25, 2023 For the last few weeks, one of the most readable news was Lionel Messi’s free transfer from Paris Saint Germain to Inter Miami. All over the world, newspapers and sports portals wrote about Messi’s arrival in the USA. After the first wave came the second, where everybody wrote about Leo’s potential debut date for his new clubs, and tickets for Inter’s games were sold out immediately. Finally, Miami’s owner Jorge Mas announced that Cruz Azul’s match on July 21 would probably be Messi’s debut. But one fan of the Argentinian somehow found out that Messi will sign for Inter, but failed to read anything else about the player, and travelled 2000 kilometres to see him..and he wasn’t there!🚨 LIONEL MESSI BACK IN ROSARIO! THE STADIUM EXPLODES!pic.twitter.com/M2kDVCBQLY— Roy Nemer (@RoyNemer) June 24, 2023 In a match against Philadelphia, which Inter lost quite effectively 4-1, a fan appeared on TV camera’s looking quite disappointed, as he wore the sign ’I travelled 1,200 miles to see the football GOAT’. He was obviously not aware that Messi was not only out of the squad but that he had not even arrived to the USA. The Argentinian superstar is on holiday in his native country and will officially sign a contract on July 5th.Messi could debut in July, Inter brining some of his teammatesIn fact, while his future teammates were losing in Philadelphia, he was playing a match in his home town Rosario on his birthday and scored a hat-trick in a friendly game which marked the retirement of his former Argentina teammate Maxi Rodriguez. Former Liverpool man invited other famous players like Angel Di Maria and Martin Demichelis, but the star of the night was Messi, who got a standing ovation at the Marcelo Bielsa stadium. When he finally comes back to the USA, he may find his new team out of the playoffs. Inter is 11 points behind Wayne Rooney’s DC United, which occupies ninth and the final place for the post-season. Miami has two games in hand but judging by their current form, they risk being cut so far adrift that Messi will arrive too late to get them into the playoffs.##NAJAVA_MECA_7339425##
