Veteran striker Ezekiel Odera plans to play for one more season before bringing his playing career, which has lasted for over a decade, to an end.The left-footed striker is for the second time set to leave Simba Wa Nairobi after the conclusion of the 2022–23 season, and initially, it was thought that he would call it a day, 13 years after making his top-flight debut with KCB FC.##NAJAVA_MECA_7347256##The player, however, has other plans, as he says that he targets one more season before ending his goal-laden career.”The 2022–23 season was to be my last, but things did not go as I had planned, and I think I will play for at least one more season, after which I will call it a day,” the 35-year-old told Mozzart Sport. The player revealed the main reason for postponing his retirement. He says he wants to complete his CAF C license in his final playing season before turning to coach after attaining the mandatory CAF C license that all top-flight and second-tier coaches must have to handle teams in Kenya.”I want to get into coaching after retirement. I have earned my CAF D badge, and next season, God willing, I will earn my CAF C, and once the season concludes, I will retire and transition into coaching. I want to have a license that allows me to coach in the Premier League,” he added. On his next trip home, Odera is confident that he will find a new club.”I am confident that I will find a team to play for. I have made a name for myself over the years, and I do not think that finding a team will be a big problem for me. Coaches know what I can offer on the pitch, and I am looking forward to next season with a lot of positivity,” he added.
