We’ve all seen the movies and comic books about Hulk. A normal-looking guy gets angry and becomes this green beast that tears everyhing apart. Well, the Brazilian footballer Hulk was named that for a reason. The legendary attacker starred for his team Atletico Mineiro against rivals America Mineiro, scored a goal as his team raced into a 2-0 lead, but ended up receiving his second booking of the night just after the final whistle as he entered a heated debate with match officials.
Hulk got the first yellow card in the first half for protesting. After the game, he went to the centre circle to confront referee Wilton Pereira Sampaio. After a heated exchange, he got the second yellow and was expelled. To the cameras, he complained about the decision, and also minutes later in the mixed zone.##NAJAVA_MECA_7347594##Hulk was adamant that the referee celebrated after America secured a draw at the famous Minerao in the city of Belo Horizonte. “Call the ref, ask him! He celebrated in my face! I have no idea why a referee would celebrate during a game, but he did. The cameras caught it, so he has to explain himself. When he showed me the red card, I applauded to congratulate him. He said he was sending me off because I was clapping, but that’s a lie. He sent me off before I started applauding.”The 36-year-old striker was so pissed off that his teammates had to drag him off the pitch before he got into the fourth official’s face.
Earlier in the game, Atletico boss, Luiz Felipe Scolari was also sent off from the touchline. The former Chelsea manager also got two yellow cards in quick succession. He called the referee and the fourth official bastards. Of course.
