Frustrated Gor Mahia seek help from President William Ruto over Kasarani land

Gor Mahia has written to President William Ruto over a parcel of land the club was gifted by the late President Daniel Arap Moi and which they have never been able to own and put to use.According to the club chairman Ambrose Rachier, the move was necessitated after they got resistance from Sports Kenya management. “Sports Kenya Director General Pius Metto told us that the land belongs to Kasarani Stadium despite the fact that we have an allotment letter that was given to us by the late President Moi,” Rachier told Mozzart Sport. Gor Mahia arch rivals AFC Leopards were equally gifted by Moi. The two adjacent parcels, 15 hectares each, are located next to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) headquarters at Kandanda House, Kasarani. Through Cabinet Secretary for ICT Eliud Owalo, Gor Mahia has managed to get the attention of the President over the matter. “We have also written to the Cabinet Secretary for lands Zacharia Njeru about the same,” Rachier added.Owalo is an ardent supporter of Gor Mahia and has on a number of occasions supported the team financially. He has pledged to deliver the club a bus before next season.##NAJAVA_MECA_7353144##With his second and final term under the Sports Act regulations coming to a close next year, Rachier believes that delivering to the club the title deed for the Kasarani land would go a long way in boosting his legacy. “I cannot build the club a stadium as I promised in the past, but if I can get them the title deed for the land then I’m sure I would have played a big role in realizing the dream of building a stadium for the club. There are many partners who would wish to be part of the project, but without the title deed, it has not been possible.” Rachier concluded. Rivals AFC Leopards are also chasing the title deed for the piece of land in Kasarani donated to the club by Moi. Why AFC Leopards is yet to develop Kasarani land donated to the club by Moi
