After a lengthy silence in the current transfer window, four-time Kenyan league champions Ulinzi Stars are on the verge of making their first addition to the playing unit. The Soldiers are on the verge of upsetting AFC Leopards in the race for Boniface Munyendo’s signature from Nzoia Sugar. In June, Munyendo was quoted on Mozzart Sport saying that he was on the verge of penning a deal with Ingwe having signed a pre-contract with them earlier.##NAJAVA_MECA_7372703##However, word from the club was that AFC Leopards were yet to make any approach to the club for the player.Mozzart Sport has now learnt that the midfielder met Ulinzi Stars on Saturday morning and agreed on a deal and is expected to finalize the move in the coming days.Munyendo joined Nzoia in 2021 on a two-year deal from Vihiga Bullets, and in the past year, he has been linked with a move away from the club after some exemplary performances for the Millers, with Ulinzi’s admiration of him evident throughout. The 2010 champions are also expected to complete the signing of Victor Omondi who has been training with the team for a couple of months.Kenya has to get its organization right – FiratOmondi was set to join Ulinzi in mid-season last campaign but a delay with his release letter from Rwandese side Musanze saw the move fail to materialize.Apart from Musanze, Omondi has featured for Nzoia Sugar and KCB locally.Ulinzi are set to kick start their pre-season training on 23 July 2023 as they seek for an improved campaign after finishing ninth in the ended season.
