Bidco United have beefed their midfield after acquiring the duo of Kelvin Mwaura and Clinton Asiago.Mwaura, a creative midfielder joins the Thika based club from Kenya Police while Asiago was roped in after impressing in the trials.##NAJAVA_MECA_7377819##Bidco have been conducting trials from Monday at their backyard in order to sieve the best talent from the lower leagues and among those who have stood out is Asiago who plays an attacking midfielder.The Anthony Akhulia-coached side beat strong interest from Posta Rangers, Sofapaka and Murang’a Seal to sign Mwaura who is a Thika Youth team product.Akhulia, a CAF B coaching course license holder said he was left in awe with Asiago’s raw talent and that displayed by the tens of budding players who showed up for the trials.Coach Frank Ouna slams Gor Mahia’s ‘small team mentality’“We have signed the two. Mwaura has had a taste of top-flight football unlike Asiago whom we intend to groom for top flight duties. He is talented and has everything needed to succeed at the top level. More than 200 players turned up for trials but we have narrowed the number to 15. We are monitoring those who made the cut. We will sign a handful of those who will impress,” he said.Mwaura, who returned to competitive football earlier in the year after overcoming a career-threatening injury said Bidco’s offer was too good to turn down.“I had been approached by a number of top-flight clubs including Bidco. It was an easy choice for me to make given the offer they made,” said the former Murang’a Seal player.Kakamega Homeboyz axe five players, more exits expectedThe club had initially signed Shariff Musa and John Otieno from Kariobangi Sharks with Chris Owino and John Walubuka arriving from Mathare United and Naivas FC respectively.The club parted ways with more than half a dozen players last week who were deemed surplus to requirement.
