Coach Joseph Makhoha will guide his charges Dagoretti High School to their first Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national games appearance since 2019 in boys football. The side is back to the national stage after defeating pre-match favorites Highway High 1-0 to reclaim the Nairobi region boys’ football title earlier this week. Six countries to take part in CECAFA U18 Women’s ChampionshipsHighway High had denied Dagoretti last year, defeating them in the semis of the games held at Lenana. They went on to lose 1-0 in the final against Waylight but the latter was disqualified for fielding ineligible players and Highway were crowned champions. “We came prepared for this match, expecting a very tough contest and we are happy for this win. Winning means alot to us. We won this match at the midfield but our defense also played a very crucial role. As we prepare for the nationals, we are aware that will be a different ball game. I have, however, been there before and I am well aware of what to expect and how we need to prepare the team for that level of competition,” Makhoha offered. ##NAJAVA_MECA_7378090##As they head back to the national games set for Kakamega School next month, Makhoha hopes to have a run as good as 2019’s and go one better to win the title.
