Showtime Sports has released an early look at a video feature that describes the shared family dynamics and modest beginnings that propelled Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford to the brink of boxing history that will air during tonight’s (Saturday, July 29) Showtime PPV taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in a Premier Boxing Champions event.
The undefeated stars will meet to become the first male undisputed welterweight champion of the four-belt era. Spence holds the WBC, WBA and IBF titles, while Crawford is the WBO champion. The four-fight pay-per-view kicks off at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT.
The video depicts how Spence and Crawford both started boxing as a way to find purpose and direction. Guided by longtime local trainers from different geographic regions and grounded in the principles of hard work and discipline, Spence and Crawford took to boxing like ducks to water, gaining previously unexplored confidence and a desire to rise to the top of their profession.
Sustained by their family members and tight-knit inner circle and their communities, Spence and Crawford reveal in the video that their commonalities may out-weigh their differences, and that they’ve been preparing for tonight’s matchup their entire lives.
“I’m fighting for everybody because everybody sacrificed in their own way to see my dream,” Spence says of his family.
“It’s important to me to give back to my community to be present for the next generation,” Crawford says in the feature.
In Australia, Spence vs Crawford airs on Sunday, July 30 live on Kayo.
