Since Wesley Fofana’s knee injury hit Chelsea, the Blues have romped into action with the idea of signing Monaco’s defender Axel Disasi.According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have agreed to pay around $50 million to bring the 25-year-old centre-back to Stamford Bridge. Disasi has entered the final two years of his contract and had been linked with Manchester United and Newcastle United in this transfer window.##NAJAVA_MECA_7396103##Monaco signed Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu over the weekend, paving the way for Disasi to leave.Fofana underwent knee surgery, and Pochettino expressed optimism that the player will fully recover this season during Chelsea’s preseason tour of the United States. He’s a product of the Paris FC football academy but has come to prominence playing for Reims between 2016 and 2020. He then moved to Monaco for around $15 million three years ago. Playing on the right side of Les Monegasques’ defence, Disasi built a good reputation and was called up by Didier Deschamps to replace the injured Presnel Kimpembe in France’s 2022 World Cup squad. He is the only French player to make his national team debut in a World Cup match.
