Signed for four years – lasted two days

Dutch midfielder Mohamed Ihattaren has been a player of Samsunspor for precisely two days. The Turkish club has decided not to work with him after all. It appears Ihattaren made an entire set of additional requirements to the Super Lig club just after he put pen to paper. After Juventus tore up Ihattaren’s contract, Turkish side Samsunspor signed him for no less than four seasons. The midfielder was welcomed at a Turkish airport, and a return to football seemed to be on the right track. But Samsunspor announced the collaboration is over even before Ihattaren had been on the field for even one second.”Our club recently invited footballer Mohamed Ihattaren, with whom we agreed on a contract, to Samsun to undergo a health check and sign a contract. Our club has abandoned the transfer because the player wanted to change the previously agreed terms and made unacceptable requests.” ##NAJAVA_MECA_7403396##It is not yet clear what will happen to Ihattaren. He played his last match as a professional footballer over a year ago. The move to Turkey was supposed to revive his career – but he’ll have to look elsewhere. This talented kid clearly has some sort of mental issue, which is very sad to see. His poor attitude and lack of discipline don’t come close to explaining his predicament. When Juventus paid $7 million to sign him from PSV Eindhoven two years ago, it was seen as a great deal for a player who was predicted to go all the way to the top. However, he barely got a taste of professional football – but has made the news for all the wrong reasons too many times now. ❌🇳🇱 Drama around Ihattaren… Following his Juve release, Ihattaren agreed a contract with Samsunspor. He arrived in Turkey wearing club scarf & chanting with fans. The club now state he changed previously agreed terms with ‘unacceptable requests’ and the deal is now OFF. pic.twitter.com/pktNRfVsOO— EuroFoot (@eurofootcom) August 3, 2023 Ihattaren joined PSV’s youth academy in 2010 and rose through the ranks to make his senior debut before his 17th birthday. He soon became a first-team regular in Eindhoven but went through a rough spell earlier this year when he fell out with now-Benfica coach Roger Schmidt. It’s a pattern that would repeat over and over. The latest problem in this young man’s career comes as no surprise.
