Mombasa County Education and Digital Transformation Executive Dr Mbwarali Kame officially flagged off Coast Region Soccer Boys representatives Serani Boys ahead of the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) National finals set to be held in Kakamega from this weekend. Kame sent off the team with words of encouragement and assured them of the county government’s unwavering support as they embark on their journey to the annual sports event.While addressing the team, the CEC reiterated the county’s commitment to sports and expressed his confidence in the team’s performance. “As you go forth to represent our region well and I assure you of our full support. I have no doubt that you will deliver an outstanding performance,” he stated.The Coast Region Secondary School boys’ football heavy weights edged Shimba Hills to book a spot in the national finals. Kakamega Governor awards Shanderema ahead of KSSSA National gamesUnder veteran coach Swaleh Abdalla, Serani Boys are upbeat of causing upsets to opponents and deliver the national gong to Coast as well as booking a flight to Rwanda for East Africa Secondary Schools games. “We are well prepared and we have had intense training sessions & are confident of bringing the title home,” he said. Coach Abdalla said his collaboration with Bandari Youth in their training programs has been instrumental in their preparations for the Nationals. “We have a program that runs the whole year unlike other schools that assemble their teams a few months to the games,” he offered.Serani have been pooled in Pool B alongside six times National champions St. Antony Boy’s Kitale, Dagoretti High School and Eastern Champions Matiliku with the National School games set for August 5th to 12th in Kakamega county.
