Daniel Otieno was on Wednesday unveiled as a Sofapaka SC player ahead of the 2023-24 Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.The former Mathare United attacking midfielder penned a one-year deal to seal the move and has since started training with the Batoto Ba Mungu. In an interview with Mozzart Sport, the left-footed player, who honed his skills at Gor Mahia Youth said that Sofapaka Chairman Elly Kalekwa personally sought for his services and he couldn’t turn him down.The player equally acknowledged the role of his agent is sealing the move.”When Prezda (Elly Kalekwa) comes calling, it’s hard to turn him down,” the player said.”I had offers from Nairobi City Stars, Tusker FC amongst others, but it was the Sofapaka offer that we chose,” he added.
