CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Industry Cup is back after a three-year hiatus. The event has become a showcase for top golf manufacturers to put their game where their money is and flex their latest and greatest technologies.
The Industry Cup allows competing manufacturers to put clubs in play that have not yet been approved or have yet to make their way onto the conforming equipment list. With unreleased clubs in many players’ bags, the Industry Cup has become a bit of a prototype showcase as well as an impressive competition.
With strong performances up and down their scorecard, Team Titleist cruised to a six-shot victory over TaylorMade in the first Industry Cup since 2019, this one held at Aviara Golf Club.
Titleist finished the 18-hole stroke play, 4-player team event at 6 under par. Mizuno claimed a runner-up finish at even par while defending champion Taylormade claimed a share of fourth place with a 2 over par showing.
The key to Titleist’s massive victory was the 520-yard par-5 8th hole. Represented by Grant Martens, Price Ferchill, Nick Guyer and Kris Ramos, Team Titleist accounted for five of their six dropped shots, carding a net score of 4 under on the reachable par 5.
Taking medalist honors was Mizuno’s Eli Wiecking with a 2 under 70.
