Bidco’s Otieno targets golden glove honour

Bidco United shot stopper John Otieno has set his eyes on being feted as the best custodian at the end of the season.Otieno joined Bidco at the start of the season from Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Kariobangi Sharks.The custodian missed Bidco’s opening three matches but managed to cement his position in the team, being preferred between the sticks ahead of Malvin Nderitu and Daniel Odiwuor.The lanky glove man has been consistent in goal, being involved in ten matches for the Thika-based outfit, managing five clean sheets to his name, three shy of Kevin Omondi of Gor Mahia, who leads with eight. His presence between the sticks has equally seen coach Anthony Akhulia men pose one of the meanest defences, conceding partly nine goals, four and one less than Gor Mahia and Posta Rangers sides, who have leaked in five and eight goals, respectively. I am glad with my performance, but I must also appreciate my fellow mates’ efforts, which have seen me manage the five clean sheets.”The ex-Kisumu Hot Stars rookie voiced his thoughts on the team’s current performance, terming it a fair start and hoping they can go all the way to a respectable finish when the season culminates.”We are having a much better start compared to last season, which has impacted the positive atmosphere in the team.
