More exits at Muhoroni Youth expected as Bulimo seeks way out

Muhoroni Youth FC opted to usher in the second leg of the FKF Premier league with a bit of flash, moving their first home clash from their dreaded backyard Muhoroni Stadium to the heart of Kisumu City; Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo. AFC Leopards were in town. Perhaps banking on a generous harvest in the way of gate collections from the many travelling Ingwe fans- and, hopefully, a full set of three points- the sugar belt side failed to rise to the occasion and went down 1-0. They stagnate at 18 points from 18 matches, and lie precariously just above the drop zone. With finances still hard to come by for the side just returning to the top flight, the recently opened transfer window spells further doom. Already, five players have exited and more could be on their way.High-flying full-back Clinton Bulimo played a full ninety minutes on Sunday against AFC Leopards and the former Safaricom Chapa Dimba national winner is on his way out of the club. Ambitious second tier sides have made contact with the utility full-back and he feels a move is imminent. ‘’I have been approached in the course of the first leg for a possible move to the National Super League by a number of clubs and we are currently still talking,’’ says Bulimo who made his premier league debut with Western Stima FC during the 2022 Premier League season.Tuesday 17.00: (1.75) Burkina Faso (3.60) Mauritania (5.70)20.00: (1.40) Tunisia (4.60) Namibia (10.5)23.00: (2.15) Mali (3.25) S.Africa (3.90)Wednesday 20.00: (1.30) Morocco (5.80) Tanzania (12.0)23.00: (2.40) Dr Congo (3.20) Zambia (3.40)The Moses Adagala-financed side have, in all fairness, held their own during the first half of the 2023/24 PL campaign with very little to make do with. Beginning the season with such experienced names as Collins Neto, Kelvin Wesonga, Ezekiel Owade, Maxwell Odada and Kelvin Okoth, Muho have so far lost four of those five talents with Neto bagging the more lucrative deal at Kenya Commercial Bank. Bulimo and 2021 Safaricom Chapa Dimba MVP Ibrahim Ochieng are also set to join the ever growing list of exiting players. The former believes he has done his due. ‘’Generally I believe everyone has given his all for the team in the first leg. We have won very crucial matches and the ones that we lost were very close. Over the weekend we just were unlucky against AFC Leopards but I feel we should have at least grabbed a point at home,’’ he continues. Bandari Youth and Changamwe Ladies reign supreme in Safaricom Chapa Dimba Coast Region finalsBulimo, famous for his long-throws which have contributed numerous assists for the side, has been in the FKF Premier League Team of The Week four out of the 15 times he has played for Muhoroni Youth. He feels ready for a new challenge.‘’I’ll take the best offer that I can find. I’ve been here for a while and gave my best, served the team well,’’ he adds. The boys, coached by former Chemelil Sugar veteran Charles Odero have an uphill task in their next contest as they travel to KCB where a re-union awaits as Neto debuted for the bankers against Ulinzi Stars on Sunday and is very likely to feature against his former side.Though sitting locked on points with Kariobangi Sharks and Ulinzi at 18 points, Muhoroni- the tail of the batch on goal difference- have to watch out for Shabana who lie just a point below and have made a resounding turnaround in their results with new coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo. Muho’s fellow newcomers to the top flight put an unprecedented five goals past Nzoia Sugar on Sunday, and right in the sugar millers’ dreaded Sudi Stadium.
