AFC Leopards have been given until this Friday to come to an agreement with three former officials who have sued them for millions of shillings over breach of contract.Former head coach Tom Juma, goalkeepers trainer Lawrence Webo and physiotherapist Boniventure Odire who were sacked by the club last year are claiming millions of shillings from the club.When the matter came up for mention at the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) on Tuesday afternoon, lawyer Japheth Munyendo who is representing the three confirmed that AFC Leopards have approached him seeking an out of court settlement.“We have received an offer from AFC Leopards but have demanded that it be put in writing. We want them to do this by Friday otherwise the matter continues to hearing,” said Munyendo. In his response, tribunal chairman John Ohaga encouraged the two parties to try and get an out of court settlement even as he directed them to file submissions in the next seven days. Otherwise the matter will be listed for hearing on February 6 if there is no agreement. I direct both parties to file their submissions without prejudice to the any negotiations within seven days,” he directed.Between the three of them the officials are demanding Ksh16 million from AFC Leopards being payment for breach of contract. In another matter, former Bidco United player Peter Mogusu Anyona and the club have been given more time to negotiate for an out of court settlement.The player has moved to the tribunal wanting to be compensated for money he spent to treat himself while playing for the club.The club said on Tuesday that a doctor who was supposed to examine Anyona is currently out of the country and will return early next month. Bidco insists the report of this doctor will be crucial in determining how the negotiations for compensation goes.
