- 37-year-old planned to return in Doha event next week
- Could now make comeback at Indian Wells in March
Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from next week’s Qatar Open after announcing he is “not ready to compete”.
The 22-time grand slam singles winner, who missed the Australian Open due to a hip injury, had been hoping to feature in the ATP 250 event in Doha. But the 37-year-old will now target next month’s BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells for his return to competitive action.
