Only the Saudis are bigger spenders than Chelsea

Behind the Blues, at the top of the spenders’ list is a quartet of Premier League competitors: Manchester United (-773,000,000), Arsenal (-622,000,000), Tottenham (-608,000,000) and Newcastle (-574,000,000).When it comes to cash flow, Manchester City are first behind Chelsea with 1,726,000,000 euros, followed by Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Manchester United. In the current season, the biggest spender was Al Hilal, which invested 384,000,000 euros in reinforcements, followed by Saudi-owned clubs Paris Saint-Germain with a deficit of 204,000,000, Al Ahli, which is ‘in the red’ with 198,000,000, and Newcastle (175,000,000) behind which stand the biggest spender in the previous five years, the club from Stamford Bridge.On the other side of the list, the clubs that made the most profit in the previous five years are led by Benfica with 354,000,000 euros collected, followed by Ajax (349,000,000) and Lille (282,000,000). Salzburg, Sporting, PSV, Lyon, Dinamo Zagreb, Valencia and Palmeiras.Interestingly, when it comes to the clubs with the highest earnings in the current season, the top of the list is Southampton, which profited as much as 167,000,000 euros, followed by Wolverhampton (135,000,000) and Villarreal (109,000,000).
