Experienced Bidco United midfielder Michael Bodo says the team has a realistic chance to beat all odds and clinch its first-ever major title this season. Bidco had a taste of what winning a title feels like before the start of the campaign, beating the Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 to lift the Elite Pre-season Cup at the Kasarani Annex. The team, under the tutelage of Anthony Akhulia, has been doing well in the league assignments, as the Thika-based club is ranked in the top half of the log. They will start their hunt for the Mozzart Bet Cup on Sunday with a clash against Division 2 side Karatina Homeboyz at the Karatina Stadium. Bodo, who occasionally skips the side, believes that the team has the capacity to win one of the two titles and proceed to represent the country at the continental level. “We always strive to be as competitive as we can every season. In this one, we are determined to win at least a title. We have come of age and have the quality to deliver,” he said. ##NAJAVA_MECA_7891589##The former Kariobangi Sharks player, however, admitted that there are areas that the team needs to improve on if their quest for a title is to be successful. He pointed out the need for the team to double its efforts in scoring goals and defending, as well as for every player to strive for individual improvement. “We have to be convincing when it comes to scoring. We haven’t been scoring as much as we want, and we need to improve. We also need to defend better,” he shared his thoughts. Bodo, who can play as a right back, joined Bidco in August 2022 from the 2009 league champions Sofapaka.
