Tom Kim withdraws from 2024 Players Championship

After playing eight holes during the first round of the 2024 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Tom Kim has withdrawn.

The three-time PGA Tour winner made a triple-bogey 6 on the par-3 17th hole before withdrawing because of an illness Thursday. He was five over through eight holes with two bogeys, the triple and five pars.

The PGA Tour announced Kim’s withdrawal but didn’t specify what illness he had.

Kim has made six of seven cuts this season with his best finish being T-17 at the WM Phoenix Open.
