Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) outfit Bandari FC vice-chairman and FKF top-seat contestant Twaha Mbarak has gone hard on the federation after the failed Annual General Meeting (AGM) that was set for Saturday but was stopped following a court order from Mombasa High Court on Friday evening.Twaha blamed the botched event on the rigidity and chest-thumping shown by FKF officials terming it the main cause of confusion witnessed in Kenyan football coupled with the officials’ inability to adjust to reality.##NAJAVA_MECA_7958274##Twaha takes issues with some of the FKF National Executive Members (NEC) who have been mandated to spearhead the game to greater heights but instead resolved to misinform the world football governing body FIFA on the tough reality on the ground attributing it to selfish interests.“Rigidity and chest-thumping shown by the FKF officials have continuously brought confusion in Kenyan football with the recent aborted AGM worsening the already bad situation,” starts Twaha’s statement seen by Mozzart Sport.“The officials vividly understand what is bedeviling our game but their inability to adjust to the reality and incompetence of most of them continue to drive our game down the drain.“It saddens most of the stakeholders seeing the same officials mandated to spearhead the game to greater heights, misinforming the world governing body FIFA on the realities on the ground, for the sake of their selfish ends. Some National Executive Members (NEC) hip hop from one court to another trying to either tamper with justice, defending illegalities by circumventing the law or creating confusion for their gains,” he adds.Key FKF NEC members blast delegates briefing, say it is a diversion and a disgrace to transparencyMbarak further accuses FKF of misusing the FIFA statutes to exhibit dictatorship in running of the sport while disregarding the Kenyan Constitution which aimed at bringing stability to the most followed game in the nation. He libels that FKF has gone to the extent of handpicking match officials that will favor a particular team during league matches, picking electoral commissioners that will be lenient to them, and organizing elections using an illegal electoral code.“The FKF officials continue to disregard the Kenyan Constitution which was aimed at curbing the confusions that have existed in this country for over 20 years by misusing FIFA statutes to exhibit dictatorship, lack of patriotism, and segregation.”“They are unable to organize free and fair elections because of the tainted image the officials have. If the elections are to be fair, then the current regime will face the wrath of Kenyans.”FKF postpones AGM following court orderThe Bandari administrator adds that FKF not recognizing the sub-county executives is a clear indication that the regime does not even respect its constitution which per Article 1 of the 2017 constitution states, “Each Sub-County will elect six people in the position of Chairman, Secretary, Women Representative, Youth, and Treasurer. The Chairman will select a running mate who will be the Vice Chairman. (2) The Sub-County representatives shall be elected by clubs registered and playing in the respective Sub-County leagues. (3) The Sub-County Executives will oversee all football operations at the Sub County level and will be subordinate to the County Executive.”In bringing sanity to the sport Twaha suggests FKF align its constitution with the Sports Act 2013 to avoid more confusion, FIFA appoints a normalization committee that will ensure compliance, fill the vacuum, spearhead the preparation for CHAN and AFCON and injunction with the government organize a free and fair election. He adds, that FKF should make their audited accounts public for scrutiny instead of bribing delegates to support what they have not seen, all branches must be audited and FKF must stop micro-managing clubs.Solutions suggested by Twaha to end the impasse 1. FKF MUST align its constitution with the Sports Act 2013 to avoid this kind of confusion which keeps recurring.2. FIFA should appoint a normalization committee which will ensure compliance, fill the vacuum, spearhead the preparation for CHAN and AFCON in conjunction with the government and eventually organize a free and fair election.3. FKF should make their audited accounts public for scrutiny instead of bribing delegates to pass what they have not seen.4. Stakeholders should rise up to defend the game. Before this regime came to power, we were number 86 in the FIFA ranking. Our position is now triple digit.5. FKF should stop micro-managing the clubs.6. All branches of FKF MUST be audited.
