After Saturday’s third round of the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Florida, “Cashmere Keith” Mitchell owns the 54-hole lead. Mitchell, ranked 72nd in the Official World Golf Ranking, shot a third-round 5-under 66 to take a two-shot lead into Sunday’s final 18.
Mitchell’s round – which we’ll cover in more detail in just a bit – consisted of six birdies, three bogeys and a highlight-reel eagle. If he goes on to win, he’s projected to reach No. 13 in the FedEx Cup Standings.
Seamus Power (third-round 68), Mackenzie Hughes (69), Peter Malnati (68) are tied for second, two back, while Cameron Young (68), Brendon Todd (70) and Chandler Phillips (70) are tied for fifth, three back.
