Levin Odhiambo expressed his gratitude to his former club, Tusker FC, after finalizing a move to Gor Mahia. The deal was signed on Monday following the expiration of his contract with the Brewers a day earlier.Odhiambo, who played for Tusker for a season, has completed his transfer to K’Ogalo, albeit outside the transfer window, after declining to sign a new deal with Tusker. Despite the Brewers’ efforts to secure his signature, he chose not to extend his contract with the Robert Matano-led team.##NAJAVA_MECA_8002281##The player took to social media to convey his appreciation to Tusker FC for the opportunity they provided during his one-year stint with the Ruaraka-based outfit.“I want to take this opportunity to thank Tusker FC, from the management, the technical bench, and my teammates. You have all been kind to me, and I will cherish all the memories we shared,” read the player’s social media post in part.He also thanked the fans for their support during his time in Ruaraka.“You will always be in my heart. Special thanks to the fans for your support every day. I wish you all the best in your future matches and may God bless you all.”Acquired in March 2023 from Mathare United, Odhiambo became a vital part of Tusker’s defense. There were calls for his inclusion in the national team, Harambee Stars, in recent months. This season, coach Robert Matano deployed him in a more attacking role as a left winger, where he excelled, contributing with assists and goals. He has been one of the standout players for Tusker this campaign. In January, Gor Mahia approached Odhiambo with the intention of signing him, and he made it clear that he wanted to leave Tusker. In response, Tusker demanded a Ksh. 3 million fee for the player, an offer Gor Mahia refused to meet. Instead, they countered with Ksh. 120,000, which Tusker swiftly rejected. Consequently, Odhiambo ran down his contract, which expired on March 31st, and he signed with Gor Mahia the following day.The former Kayole Young, Wazito FC, and Mathare United player now joins Gor Mahia, where he will compete with assistant captain Geoffrey Ochieng for the left-back position. Ochieng is the only natural left-back at Gor, and in his absence, the club has had to rely on makeshift players in that position. If cleared on time, Ochieng could make his Gor Mahia debut on Saturday against Kakamega Homeboyz at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.AFC Leopards’ ex-striker Ray Omondi reveals biggest regret of his career, sends a message to aspiring footballers
