Rooney blasts United’s players, Keane defends Ten Hag

Maybe they were all ‘united’ while they played for United, but as TV pundits, they do not agree on one thing – Eric ten Hag. Former players Michael Owen and Paul Scholes called for the Dutchman to be removed ASAP after a 4-0 humiliation from Crystal Palace, while two former captains Roy Keane and Wayne Rooney think that he needs more time to put things right. They are all pointing out that injuries have been brutal to the team, forcing for some unpopular solutions like Casemiro as central back (was guilty for Arsenal’s winning goal), but also to the fact that Ten Hag’s first season was a success. Wayne Rooney even went as far as accusing players for not wanting to play in order to be fit for EURO and to avoid critics even thou they are not injured anymore.Gunner secure a title battle until the last round with a win over Manchester“Some of those players can play, 100 per cent. Because they’re getting a little bit of stick, it’s easy for players to stay out and come back towards the FA Cup final and get themselves right for the European Championships. I’ve seen it for myself over the years. The players who have been injured are not filling themselves with any credit at the minute and the manager is taking all the stick for it. I think the players have to really look at themselves, because when you’ve got your manager doing an interview and he’s talking about attitude, and players’ attitude not being right to play for Manchester United, that is a massive insult. ‘If I see my manager saying that, then there’s no way I just let that ride until the end of the season. And it looks like some players are just trying to get to the end of the season” said Rooney without hesitation.Former players blast United: ‘They don’t have a clue’His former teammate agreed with that assessment but also supported the manager who is yet to find his fate after the FA Cup final in May.“I hope he’s given more time and they get to the summer, they can regroup and restructure the club, or whatever that might be. There’s huge problems at the club. But I hope he’s given a chance to get things right. Because last year there was some positives, we have to be honest with that. And they have a FA Cup final coming up, and if they manage to beat Man City, it’s going to be very, very difficult, but there’s huge challenges he’s facing, and he’s under huge pressure” Keane said on Sky Sports.PREMIER LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 37SaturdayFulham – Man.City 0-4 (0-1)/Gvardiol 13, 71, Foden 59, Alvarez 90+7 pen/Wolverhampton – Crystal Palace 1-3 (0-2)/Cunha 68 – Olise 26, Mateta 29, Eze 73/Everton – Sheffield Utd 1-0 (1-0)/Doucoure 30/Tottenham – Burnley 2-1 (1-1)/Porro 32, Van De Veen 82 – Bruun Larsen 25/Bournemouth – Brentford 1-2 (0-0)/Solanke 90 – Mbeumo 87, WIssa 90+6/Newcastle – Brighton 1-1 (1-1)/Longstaff 45+5 – Veltman 18/West Ham – Luton 3-1 (0-1)/Ward-Prowse 54, Soucek 66, Earthy 77 – Lokonga 6/Nott.Forest – Chelsea 2-3 (1-1)/Boly 16, Hudson-Odoi 75 – Mudryk 8, Sterling 80, Jackson 82/SundayMan.Utd. – Arsenal 0-1 (0-1)/Trossard 21/Monday22:00: (4.40) Aston Villa (3.90) Liverpool (1.75)***odds are subject to change***
