‘If you want Spurs to lose, you need counselling’

The debate on the streets of North London ahead of tonight’s game against Manchester City is simple: Should Spurs win or lose against Manchester City? Of course, the current England champion is the one calling the shots, considering they are the favourites, but Tottenham fans are debating where their team should lose, considering that it would move their arch-rivals Arsenal further away from the title or should they win no matter what. And while the fans are arguing, Spurs’ coach and players have no such dilemmas, especially coach Ange Postecoglou and Dejan Kulusevski. Havertz: ‘I’ll be the biggest Spurs fan ever’Tottenham’s boss was asked about the situation in which some fans want their team to lose tonight just to prevent Arsenal from potentially winning the title. “If you’re going by social media then probably 99% of supporters who don’t want Spurs to win, but please don’t tell me that’s your world. There’s a bigger world out there mate. We’ll need to have a counselling session if that’s your world. To me, I don’t understand it, I never will. I understand rivalry. I was part of one of the biggest ones in the world in the last couple of years with Celtic and Rangers and I understand the rivalry but I’ve never and will never understand if someone wants their own team to lose. That’s not what sport is about. It’s not what I love about the game” said Postecoglou. Arsenal fans set off fireworks outside Manchester City’s hotel at 2 a.m. before City’s game against Tottenham. 😴🧨pic.twitter.com/7wTL5OOt0b— CentreGoals. The Swede has started Tottenham’s last four matches and is expected to retain his spot against City. Kulusevski ‘revealed’ his colors long time ago on a Swedish Lundh podcast.”My favourite team is Arsenal because I like everything about the club, the city, the players and the way they play football”. Even when he signed for their ‘enemies’ Tottenham he didn’t give up on the Gunners and recently said in an interview: “There’s one team I’ve always wanted to play for, and I think I will play there one day, but I don’t want to say what team it is because it’s sensitive stuff”.
