Former Vihiga Bullets FC midfielder Jesse Kajuba ventured out into the Rwandan Second Division in the beginning of the year for a tryout with Vision FC and currently sees the fruits of his leap of faith blooming.Having guided the side, playing the entire second leg, Kajuba’s side topped the second division’s zone B and now faces a stiff promotion play-off round robin featuring three other teams. He says they have come a long way and will reign supreme in the task at hand.‘’Only one part of the job is done, and that is qualifying for the playoffs. We did that by finishing in the top position in the league and that has given us a lot of confidence. Every team in the play-offs is tough so there is a little adjustment to our mentality as we take them on,’’ says Kajuba, well-travelled in the Kenyan divisions.##NAJAVA_MECA_8127237##Vision took down fellow Zone B counterparts 2-1 on Wednesday, the opening day of the playoffs and have Intare FC next up on Saturday.Kajuba, whose second-leg involvement with the team saw him score five times and assist three, says of their campaign; one match at a time.‘’The match day one victory was much needed to shake off a little tension. Our coaches tell us to take one match at a time and we have abided by this,’’ continues the diminutive midfielder. The playoffs, staged on a ‘home and away’ basis, will have Vision take on Zone A leaders Rutsiro on the final match day- the 8th of June with Kajuba’s side playing at home.Muluya vows to stick to his guns in Mozzart Bet Cup tie against KCBHe doesn’t want to look far ahead but knows the significance of this contest.‘’You know only two teams will enter the first division and we know how tough Rutsiro can be, after all, they have topped the other Zone. We however, intend all possible points on the table. It’s all about playing safe,’’ says Kajuba.Kajuba made his entry into Kenyan football in an almost similar fashion with Muhoroni Young FC, FKF premiership side Muhoroni Youth FC’s academy side and made steady progress to Vihiga Bullets with whom he would feature for in the premier league. He has had his fair share of promotion conquests and banks on his experience to guide Vision too- albeit in a different league.Kajuba ready for FKF Premier League return after sabbatical‘’My experience with Vihiga Bullets, fighting for promotion has definitely helped me here. Some of my teammates are very young and have not been in this position before so it’s necessary to guide them,’’ he adds.It now remains to be seen whether Kajuba’s Midas promotion touch can influence Vision FC’s entry into the Rwandese top-flight football and serve the Ugandan midfielder another chance in one of the East African region’s top leagues. The side takes on Intare on Saturday 25th at the Mumena Grounds.
