Injuries took a toll on Rakow Czestochowa’s season – Marcelo

Injuries are the reason why Polish club Rakow Czestochowa performed below expectations in the recently concluded Polish Ekstraklasa League.Rakow, who won the 2022/2023 league, found the going tough this season when results were not forthcoming as they would expect and ended up finishing a distant seventh in the league.Jagiellonia Bialystok ultimately won the league with 63 points, the same as second-placed Slask Wroclaw, but with a superior goal difference of +32 compared to +19 for the latter.Erick “Marcelo” Ouma, a Kenyan international and Rakow Czestochowa defender, gave his opinion on the performance and his adaptation so far in an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport. Things are different but as always, I have to adapt quickly. Since I have only been there for a few months, I am still adjusting, but so far, so good.” Marcelo has fully recovered from his latest injury, where he suffered a torn biceps femoris muscle. He will be looking forward to helping his team in the new season to regain their lost glory in the Polish Ekstraklasa League.The Kenyan international, who missed the Harambee Stars’ 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast in Malawi, is expected back in Poland before the end of the week.
