Charles Okere’s vision for Tusker FC after earning CAF A license

Tusker Youth FC head coach Charles Okere Okoth is thrilled after acquiring his CAF A license coaching badge. He plans to use the knowledge and experience gained to raise the standards at Tusker FC and improve his players’ training.Okere was one of 18 football coaches who recently graduated with a CAF A license after a six-month training course organized by the FKF technical department.Not only did Okere complete the course, but he also emerged as the top performer among the 18. He was followed by Rising Starlets coach Jackline Juma, with Bernard Kawinzi of Posta Rangers completing the list of the top three performers. I also empower coaches and players at the grassroots by offering football clinics,” said Okere.“I am also a coach educator and offer intermediate and advanced courses at Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) and Norsk Fotballtrenerforening (NFT) programs,” he added.##NAJAVA_MECA_8154672##The former Vihiga Queens head coach began his coaching career at MYSA as the coach of Umoja Stars FC, which competed in the Kariobangi South MYSA zone. He expressed his delight at his recent success in the CAF A course and acquiring the license.“It is a great feeling. I honestly feel elated, especially with the fact that I have acquired one of the top coaching badges in CAF standards, which was the objective,” Okere said.He told Mozzart Sport that the level of instructors and participants in the course highlighted its significance.“We had the best coach educators in the country and in Africa, including Francis Kimanzi and Salim Babu, who were also assisted by others handling different modules like goalkeeping. The class also comprised top coaches in the country at both the national team and club levels.”Okere, who is also a former Harambee Starlets head coach, praised the Football Kenya Federation’s initiative to train coaches. He believes the large pool of trained coaches can now properly train and develop football from the grassroots to the top level.
