KSSSA: Nyanza region heavyweights Agoro Sare, Kisumu Day share spoils in rescheduled pool opener

tabKisumu Day rallied from behind to settle for an entertaining 1-1 draw against Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Nyanza region football defending champions Agoro Sare in a clash played at the Kisumu High School on Thursday 11 July.The match which was slated for Wednesday 10 July was postponed after fans poured into the field forcing officials to reschedule it. They clashed twice before the game started. The match stopped for almost two minutes to allow the fans to settle down after their celebrations.Minutes later, Kisumu Day responded with a goal thanks to Victor Oduor’s masterclass. He was however optimistic that they learned their lessons going forward.”The match has been very tough but Agoro Sare is very good. There was some lapse in our defense and that is what Agoro took advantage of. But the boys woke up and we equalized. A draw is good but I know I will meet this team probably in the finals and I will do my best to win. He was confident that they would retain their regional title as they aimed for a national title.”We had a good game. Kisumu Day is a worthy opponent. They have done so well. Moving forward, everybody is fighting for a slot in the nationals and we wish our boys all the best.
