Kenyan international Alphonce Omija could be set for a move away from his Omani club, Dhofar Club, after the expiry of his contract. The former Kariobangi Sharks player joined Dhofar in February 2023 and established himself as a key player. In May, he won the His Majesty Sultan Cup with the club, which might be his last trophy with them.##NAJAVA_MECA_8210017##Omija is now out of contract and appears reluctant to continue beyond the current campaign, potentially setting the stage for a move elsewhere.“I am out of contract and right now anything could happen. They have offered me a contract extension but right now I have not made a decision and I cannot say whether I am going back there or not, but things will be clearer soon,” he told Mozzart Sport. When asked about other offers, Omija, without giving many details, mentioned he had a couple on the table that were being reviewed. Omija has been on the rise and is now part of the national team setup, receiving plaudits from national team head coach Engin Firat. He was part of the Kenya team at the COSAFA tournament in South Africa.“Everyone from outside may be surprised to see the qualities of Omija, but I am not surprised because when I saw Alphonce for the first time, I was sure about him. He waited for his chance and took his chance against the African champions, and he did his job well. He is only 21,” Firat said.“You should also remember that Omija was in the Kenyan league, and nobody gave him a real chance, nobody. So, therefore, when I invited him for the first time to join the Harambee Stars camp, nobody knew where he was, even most people didn’t know who he was,” added Firat.Victor Wanyama captains Montreal in win over Atlanta
