Naivas FC Ugandan midfielder Summy Ggolola has decried the team’s approach in their Promotion/Relegation playoff second-leg loss against Sofapaka, played on Sunday at Dandora Stadium.Sofapaka saw off Naivas by a solitary goal courtesy of a 43rd-minute strike by Andre Kalama. We gave away a game that we ought to have won. I feel like we got it wrong in terms of our tactical approach. The idea to resort to long balls instead of building from the back and retaining possession did not work well for us. They (Sofapaka) were good on aerial balls, so our efforts on that front were always going to be futile,” said Ggolola.Over the course of the two legs, Naivas failed to find the back of the net, firing blanks at the Sofapaka goal. It seemed too late by the time we regained our form. All of us in the team are disappointed by that,” he said.It is most likely that Naivas will have to strategize on how they will gain promotion in the coming season without the services of the former Zoo FC man, who has attracted interest from FKF Premier League clubs.
