Le Golf National’s Albatros Course near Paris, site of this week’s women’s golf competition for the 2024 Olympics, opened in 1990 with a design by Hubert Chesneau and Robert von Hagge. The layout was renovated in 2015 by European Golf Design.
Thanks to yardage books provided by PuttView – the maker of detailed yardage books for thousands of courses around the world – we can see exactly the challenges the women face in France.
Owned by the French Golf Federation, the Albatros Course will be the home of the French Open for the 30th time in October. It also was the site of the 2018 Ryder Cup, in which the European team trounced the U.S. 17 ½-10 ½. On Sunday, Scottie Scheffler charged across the back nine to lock up the gold medal in the men’s Olympic golf event.
