Former Gor Mahia target aiming to clinch University Games world title with Kenyatta University

Nairobi United midfielder Bernard Ouma is hoping to inspire the Kenyatta University football team, KU Hardnuts, to clinch the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) Games in Lagos, Nigeria. The Hardnuts will be looking to write history this year by bringing the title to Nairobi having finished sixth in the past edition held in China last year. Besides Ouma, the team is laced with other experienced players including; AFC Leopards forward Maxwell Otieno, who is best remembered for scoring the winning goal in the Mashemeji Derby in May last year. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8350570##Former Green Commandos winger Price Musebe and the duo of Michael Owen Amwayi and Ian Owiti who are attached to National Super League (NSL) side 3K are also in the team. Fast-rising Ulinzi Stars midfielder Javan Omondi will also be looking to help the Hardnuts achieve their target in the tournament, that kicks off on Sunday at the UNILAG Sports Complex. Brace for Francis Kahiro as KCB thumps Posta Rangers to maintain unbeaten runThe team has a new coach in Joseph ‘Ndoch’ Ndung’u who succeeded Gor Mahia legend Tobias Ochola who retired in March after clinching the national title. Ouma, who will be featuring in his second and last FASU competition says the quality of the team is good enough to bring the title home. “Most of the senior players in the team are in their last competition. Thereafter, the two finalists will earn the honour of representing the CECAFA region at the AFCON U-20 tournament next year.
