Omondi opens up on Sofapaka experience as he makes FKFPL debut

Veteran midfielder has been praised by newly signed attacking midfielder Edward Omondi for his role in helping him and other new signings settle in at Sofapaka.Omondi was acquired by Batoto Ba Mungu from Rainbow FC during the off-season as the club was on a mission to beef up its squad in a bid to avoid a relegation scare as was the case last season.Omondi popularly known as Ondimu is on his debut season in the FKF Premier League having made his first appearance when he started in Sofapaka’s 1-0 loss to Talanta FC on 14 September.Junior Starlets overpower Valencia in pre-World Cup friendly clashHe also came on at the start of the second half against Mathare United last weekend and was instrumental in helping his club equalize. He credited his captain, Mieno, for helping him to settle.“I have settled in well in the team. My teammates have welcomed me and captain Mieno has helped all the new players feel at home. I have hit the ground running,” he said.The 20-year-old has vowed to utilize the opportunity of playing in the top flight now that he is living his dream“I am so delighted to get the chance to play in the top-tier league. We have a good team and will be a threat once we gel,” he added.Being his debut season, Omondi says he has set a realistic target for himself in the season but exuded confidence that he will bang goals.“I have set myself a target of eight goals this season being my debut.
