Harambee Starlets striker suffers major injury, ruled out for rest of season

The season might have just ended for Harambee Starlets striker Marjolen Nekesa after she suffered a major injury during training with her club, Slavia Prague.Nekesa injured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during training ahead of her club’s game against Turkish side Galatasaray in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.The Butere Girls alumna missed the second-round qualification match played on Tuesday night, which also did not go well for her team.##NAJAVA_MECA_8370640##The ACL injury is expected to keep the Kenyan international sidelined for up to nine months, with a few additional months needed to regain match fitness before she can resume playing.After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, played on Thursday, 19th September in Turkey, Slavia Prague hoped to use their home advantage to progress to the next round, but it wasn’t meant to be.Harambee Starlets & Slavia Praha forward Marjolen Nekesa will be out for 9 months after suffering an ACL injury in training.
