Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have rubbished the alleged use of black magic (juju) by their stewards during Mashemeji Derbies against bitter rivals AFC Leopards. On Thursday, AFC Leopards goalkeeper Levis Opiyo attributed his consistent schoolboy errors in the derby to juju rituals performed by an unnamed Gor Mahia steward. In a rejoinder, Gor Mahia maintains that none of their stewards or staff members engages in the use of juju as alleged by Opiyo, who believes that Leopards will beat their bitter rivals this season. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8370923##”We do not do that here. I find the topic of the use of black magic to win matches trivial. If someone else believes in it and its powers, that is his or her choice,” said Gor Mahia vice chairman Francis Wasuna. Wasuna slammed Opiyo for unprofessionalism and failing to back his allegations with evidence in the interview which has since gone viral. I would advice him to secure the services of a serious and registered agent who will help handle such matters,” said Wasuna. In a separate interview, Gor Mahia head of security Lawrence Odhiambo wondered how Leopards managed to beat Gor 2-1 in May last year, a game Opiyo clocked full minutes.
