Enrique’s decision: No Dembele against Arsenal

Even since the end of the last season, but certainly at the beginning of the new one, PSG is playing great and are a joy to watch. Since Kylan Mabppe left, this team is full of new, young, talented players and there are no big stars (yet) in this squad. So, the (unofficial) news that Ousmane Dembele won‘t be in the plane travelling to London to face Arsenal in the Champions League came as a big surprise, especially since the former Barcelona man started the season well, contributing to eight of PSG’s goals in the first seven matches (four goals and four assists). However, he will not be present in the English capital, just like Due, Marco Asensio, Lucas Hernández, and the long-injured Presnel Kimpembe.Another brace and Barcola becomes France’s top scorerL’Équipe reports that after the game with Rennes on Friday there was a dispute between Luis Enrique and Ousmane Dembélé. This later influenced the coach’s decision, but the main issue seems to be related to Dembélé’s lack of discipline, whether in terms of his gameplay or behavior. His selfishness was visible during some Ligue 1 games and that‘s what maybe made an influence in Enrique‘s decision. Numerous times Dembele broke from the right wing easily, and in nine out of 10 times, another PSG player was following him and was in the penalty area, usually unguarded, waiting for his pass for a simple tap in. None of those players got the ball as Dembele wanted to finish the action himself. Needles to say, in most cases he didn‘t score and Enrique‘s frustration was caught by TV cameras on Friday against Rennes. And since Arsenal, a much stronger and defensively disciplined team is next in the Champions League, the Spanish tactician didn‘t want Dembele to miss chances which will probably be hard to come by anyway. On the other hand, nothing in Enrique‘s behavior was pointing at this, as he was the first one to praise Dembele‘s performance, like against Brest and Reims.##NAJAVA_MECA_8370686##
