SamWest Blackboots coach fires back at SS Assad after ambulance saga

SamWest Blackboots head coach Andrea Marco Ongwae has hit out at SS Assad over the manner in which the two sides’ first match of the National Super League (NSL) season was abandoned.The two sides were scheduled to take on each other on Sunday 22 September at Vapor Grounds, Ngong’ but the match failed to kick off due to the unavailability of a fully equipped ambulance.##NAJAVA_MECA_8400978##Match commissioner Michael Mwangi then granted SamWest, the hosts 45 minutes to provide a fully equipped ambulance.With the directive taking effect from 1415 hrs, the ambulance arrived at 1506 hrs, six minutes after the agreed time which made SS Assad refuse to proceed with the match citing failure by the home team to meet pre-match medical requirements within the stipulated time frame.Two Harambee Stars prospects dazzle for Wigan, Leyton Orient in English Football League CupIn an interview with Mozzart Sport, the former Gor Mahia player took time to explain the matter, accusing Assad of unsportsmanlike behaviour.“We had a very good pre-season, one of my best pre-seasons in a team. In our first game against SS Assad, the morale was high to play our first game at home but some technicalities came up about, the ambulance and the timings and we didn’t play the match.##NAJAVA_MECA_8400982##The case is yet to be decided by FKF.
